This game takes the infuriatingly fun aspects of helltaker, moves it from a locked puzzle style to just real time reaction speed, and its just a blast to play.
it took me 3 fucking hours to beat the game on easy, and I am both dreading and looking forwards to beating this game on medium and hard difficulties.
I do recommend playing the game if you enjoyed helltaker. Although I completely agree with other reviews there needs to be more levels, maybe as a dlc as with examtaker. However, the gameplay, concept, music, everything is just so well done and I'm itching for more, same with helltaker (although all we can do is reminisce for that one).
10/10 would buy the dlc again if I could, and I cannot wait to see what other games Vanripper comes up with.

Can't recommend the game, would put neutral if allowed. Art direction is good, if a bit monocolor at times, music was fine and the first parts of the game work.
Latter stages of the game are overtuned and while not a true "Touhou" game I struggle to find a better descriptor at the moment. Not only are there bullet patterns to dodge but a time limit on the generators and parts dispensers that you need to run through the bullet patterns to get to.
Can't say it's a bad game since it's mostly just not my style but I can't recommend it either.

The atmosphere, art, animations and music are all top notch. The game is clearly a labor of love, and once you get into the rhythm of the levels it can be very satisfying.
However, and perhaps it's admittedly a skill issue on my part, but once the final boss character showed up, my enjoyment was soured a bit. Multitasking the repairs while 9001 enemies and bullets were spawning practically on top of me became more frustrating than challenging, and surviving started to feel a bit more like luck than skill. The boss could use perhaps 2-3 seconds more of breathing room between her attacks, nothing that can't be easily fixed via a patch if it's not just a me problem.
I did, however, still greatly enjoy it, and am intrigued by the implications of a deeper story going on w. the main character. I look forward to seeing where things go moving forward.
