Almost a good game, but definitely needed more polishing before release. It can be fun and interesting, but it lacks full depth and the mechanics are not intuitive.
What I did like is that it feels like something a little unique in the genre, balancing the favor of the various gods had a lot of potential to be fun. However, it needed to go beyond just building a bunch of shrines everywhere.
A couple of key complaints that I've seen in other reviews and agree with:
Sandbox map generation is horrendous - spawning in or completely surrounded by boulders, spawning away from necessary resources making ridiculous supply lines right out of the gate, terrain making building nearly impossible
Difficult to understand basics: I should not have had to spend 20 minutes trying to figure out how to place dirt down to create a farm and the chain of production in the game is challenging to understand at times too.
Additional thoughts:
The theme and graphics are pretty but inconsistent (draw distance is a big issue in this game and the line between rendered and potato is nonexistent).
It's actually pretty easy to softlock yourself in this game, even in the tutorials. You can accidentally turn all your tier 1 materials into tier 2 materials and leave yourself unable to build or advance with no one way acquire more.
I'm not sure progressive makes much sense in this game either, seems arbitrary.
