The Gears of War franchise is probably my all time favourite video game franchise. I have played every single one. I have to say as a gears fan, I really enjoyed Gears 5. I thought the characters were really interesting and had good stories and motives behind them. I thought the entire plot was excellent and it was great to have continued straight from the previous game. The game also introduced new features like adding an open world section where you can explore different points of interests on the skif and complete secondary missions which I thought was a nice new touch. Might be a bit lengthy but it's totally worth it. And at the end of the game, players are made to make a tough choice. Not giving away anything else on that, You'll have to play the game yourself to find out. Jack the robot has a bit more use to him than previous games. You can now equip different abilities to help you fight in combat which can be very useful and I like the fact that this has been added in. For example you can 'Hijack' an enemy meaning they will fight with you rather than against you for a short period of time. There's also a shield barrier ability protecting you from incoming bullets and many more. Finding the components scattered across the maps will allow you to upgrade these abilities.
The multiplayer modes are fun. I can probably spend all day playing all the different modes as they are all fun and unique. We have the classic horde mode, fighting off waves of the swarm. All your versus options with different varieties like 'dodgeball' where killing an enemy player will bring back one of your teammates back from the dead etc.
Lots of content and lots of fun. Get this game if you love story games although it might be a bit confusing if you haven't played the previous titles. 10/10. Oh yeah.. and Dave Batista plays Marcus Fenix!
