Overall I enjoyed this game even tho it's not my favourite type (normally I prefer turn-based / strategy) - for me this is one of the few games that I have enjoyed in a similar way to one of the early Diablo games.
Pros
I generally thought the look and feel is quite nice - I generally enjoyed my playing time
I didn't find anything really frustrating / difficult about the mechanics and it's easy enough with the town portal to replenish supplies etc, so mostly I was able to just focus on enjoying the game
There are some good options in terms of upgrading existing equipment e.g. enchanting, adding gems / ember, and choosing how to upgrade your character, without being overly complicated.
It's very satisfying when you find a unique / extremely powerful item.
I think it's a nice touch to be able to share items across your characters, if you want to.
I think the options to equip spells on your pet and change its stance are nice. I didn't really bother that much with some of the pet stuff but I was pleasantly surprised when I found I could equip a healing spell on it.
On the normal mode it is not too challenging - suitable for new players - which for me as a casual player was good as I didn't get too frustrated / stuck at any point.
Cons:
There is no real intelligence in the enemies, they pretty much attack you if they see you (and sometimes if you back off I think they kinda forget about you)
I'm not sure that all the spells / powers are equally useful, I think for me I landed up relying heavily on one offensive spell which seemed a lot more effective than the others
There are a lot of items and particularly towards the end I landed up with an absolute ton of items all of which are pretty good (particularly if you are building up your ember supplies) so you need frequent visits to town to sell inventory and ultimately I had to spend a fair amount of time on this and chuck items I kinda wanted to keep. Maybe would have preferred if you could earn inventory size upgrades or something.
The final boss battle is way tougher than the other bosses - for me I got tired of pressing the mouse buttons on this last bit - and at one point towards the end got trapped as my mouse briefly seemed to stop responding - I didn't really enjoy this final showdown.
Neutral:
The story is OK but is not really very in depth.
The replayability - I could probably see myself trying it again in a few months or a year or two with a different character but I'm not rushing to play it again immediately.
