Awaria Review (Uppermost)
The atmosphere, art, animations and music are all top notch. The game is clearly a labor of love, and once you get into the rhythm of the levels it can be very satisfying.
However, and perhaps it's admittedly a skill issue on my part, but once the final boss character showed up, my enjoyment was soured a bit. Multitasking the repairs while 9001 enemies and bullets were spawning practically on top of me became more frustrating than challenging, and surviving started to feel a bit more like luck than skill. The boss could use perhaps 2-3 seconds more of breathing room between her attacks, nothing that can't be easily fixed via a patch if it's not just a me problem.
I did, however, still greatly enjoy it, and am intrigued by the implications of a deeper story going on w. the main character. I look forward to seeing where things go moving forward.
