Fez İnceleme (kottpot)
from appearance and concept alone, i understand why this game may not look appealing, or even fun to most people. even as someone who likes the art style and perspective-shifting concept, the map is extremely vast and major areas are easy to miss. the platforming does not change throughout the entire game either. so, for most people, it just seems like another generic indie collectathon platformer, with an a**hole creator for those who know him. i think what people do not understand is that the platforming actually isn't the core focus of this game. people get confused by the ending, and forget about the game without bothering to check out new game+. it's still a collectathon in nature, but less a collectathon platformer and more of a collectathon puzzle game, each puzzle being more absurd and special than one might realize.
for those who know about outer wilds, this game feels like a more extreme version of that, and is also excruciatingly hard to describe to people and sell them on it. this game uses platforming as a sort of avenue for exploration of a world filled with mystery and puzzles. (sidenote: outer wilds may not be a platformer, but "controls/gameplay used as an avenue for another goal" is still a theme which heavily applies to both games.) also, unlike outer wilds, it's not necessarily centered around a story that can be fully solved in the first place, which is completely ok -- you can still get a majority of the way there, and complete even new game+ without knowing everything. the entire point of this game, at least, in my opinion, is that not everything is meant to be solved, and you can find peace within not knowing everything. even with this in mind, this game has a lot of mystery worth checking out. i recommend playing with another person to help guide you or figure things out, but do not make them tell you what to do.
the only case in which you need to be told what to do is if you're looking to collect the red cubes, all of which aren't necessary to beat new game+, aren't required for any of the achievements, and are practically impossible to solve on your own. they're a bonus.
