Slitterhead İnceleme (Scyushi)

BEAT IT at 12 hours:
-----
Well.. my opinions are a lot more mixed after that.
Slitterhead might not look it, but it's a beat 'em up. There's some light stealth and exploration, but everything ends in a fight.
COMBAT:
Enemy variety is SEVERELY lacking.. you'll fight the same goons from start to finish.
This includes the bosses, there's 3. One you fight for 90% of the game, one is the same boss but it teleports, and then the final boss is something different, but the fight is really bad.
The combat is fun, but also feels stiff.
EXPLORATION:
You'll also revisit the same levels over and over again, but they might be further along in the timeline so some events might change. Exploration is VERY light with only a handful of collectibles to find, but you'll get tired of fighting the same enemies on the same rooftops on the same maps.
STORY:
The funny thing is, the repetition directly correlates with the story. It's really cool how everything comes together and is a very interesting way to explain why the game is the way it is. But that doesn't automatically make it great, it makes it obnoxious.
TOO LONG:
Padding.. way too much padding. This felt like a JRPG with how long and drawn out it was.
Slitterhead has about 5 hours worth of content stretched thin by the 12th hour (and I didn't even bother getting every collectible).
CONCLUSION:
Was it worth it? ..I guess?
I'ma be real, I was getting super bored / frustrated with how long it was taking to end.
You even fight the final final boss multiple times.. THE FIGHTS NEVER CHANGE, IT'S THE SAME EACH TIME SO WHY????? <---(this summarizes the entire game honestly)
Part of me loved it, but part of me hated it.. it's is a mixed bag with a lot of great ideas that wear out their welcome to the point of exhaustion.
Take that as you will. I'll leave a thumbs up, but I wish there was a middle option.

1 HOUR IN

This is one of the most unique games I've played in a very long time.. but I'm too early on to say whether it's good or bad.
There's a lot of interesting mechanics to it, but it's such an oddity that it's hard to describe.. so you load into a mission and can posses random humans around the level. These humans are like your pawns, you'll use them to get information from others in order to track down the Slitterheads, the enemies / bosses of the game.
Once you find one, you have to chase it down, and can use various blood powers to zip around the environment. It feels a bit stiff, but it's also kinda cool.
After attacking the runner long enough, it will transform into a bigger monster and start fighting you.
Combat has an emphasis on deflecting enemy attacks by pressing the right joystick in the direction the attack is coming from at the right timing. Doing so will stagger the enemy, and if done enough, trigger a slow-mo to let you get in some combo hits.
All the while, you have your special "hero" humans, which have a slew of unique abilities, but you can swap to any nearby humans to try and overwhelm the monster with sheer numbers.
That's about as far as I've gotten. I'll say the game barrages you with text tutorials none-stop, even repeating ones you've already read before, and in order to unlock the next mission, you're forced to exhaust the dialog of your hero humans.. you can skip it, but it's still weird.
Oh and there's also skill points you can use to upgrade your weapons (each hero human has a different one) and abilities.. so all-in-all Slitterhead is like a single-player team based fighting game where you have to identify the enemy.
It's unique at the very least, but I don't see it having much wide appeal. I'm going to continue playing to see if the gameplay starts to make more sense, because at the moment I just don't see the point.. like I'm enjoying it, but I'm waiting for the tutorial to be over so I can see what the game REALLY is.
OH! Also a warning. The second level just has a naked sex scene out of nowhere.
