Agreed that the launcher killed this game for me as well. Enjoyed the cards, stats and perks combination for replay-ability. Shame I can't refund a product after the seller has altered the deal.
Barely cared about the difference between characters per class for just flavor text of bludgeon tank or shock mage. Disliked the skin micro-transactions but understood it was a method to support developers (before publisher pushing). Then Sands dlc presenting dual-class characters which thought indicated future dlc and lost interest. Wolf Wars for a separate timeline that didn't impact a run, didn't care. They have a new DLC out, cheaper than Sands, could be interesting enough to look at but... Then the launcher issues and yeah, it feels like malware/spyware. Being forced to sign the EULA to play a game you already bought without needing too, fine let me play it single-player or offline to avoid this data leech. Seems like I can't play this game then if I can't reliably play without the parasite launcher interfering. I saw their post in July for why they data-mined their players and to be fair it is similar to BG3 having Larion's launcher and it collecting stats on their players. Main difference is the level of trust, this just feels dirty playing.
