After Crew Expendable this is the 2nd story-oriented DLC and once again it follows the story of the original Alien. They should be played in this order. We now control Ripley and our job will be to start the self-destruct sequence and use Narcissus, one of the ship's lifeboats, to escape the Nostromo once and for all.
Once again it's fascinating to see the various sections in Nostromo in a videogame. I particularly liked the hangar with a lot of vehicles. Opening the door is an automatic but slow process with a lot of noise. Even if you want to completely avoid the Xeno you won't have the chance to do so completely. Then, of course, the end section should be mentioned where we have 5 minutes to reach Narcissus. There is smoke and gas everywhere. The visibility is awful and it makes the game even more terrifying.
There is no special outro with the Alien being fought in the Narcissus. Everything ends with Ripley sending her message. It seems - and various sources confirm - that this is not the original message from the movie but (just like everybody else in Crew Expendable) Sigourney Weaver came back and did a re-recording. There is no Jonesy, unfortunately. We don't get to save the cat (I assume they just didn't want to take time to model it in-game). The escape section is still the most memorable scene with Ripley singing You Are My Lucky Star. And, similarly to Crew Expendable, we have some audio collectibles to find.
Short, but very decent DLC. I prefer these ones to the scavenging / survivor-based ones.
