Overall this DLC is good, but it needs some more work. Once you get the mechanics down & system going, pets getting sick somewhat frequently can be annoying but manageable. However there are a few things that continue to irritate me that should be fixed.
Once your animal is adopted out, they shouldn't be able to get sick. I've encountered this issue many times where I've adopted out an animal & it's gotten sick, their ride shows up & I can no longer send out other adopted animals or receive new animals because I can't send out a sick animal. So I get stuck waiting an incredibly long time for the animal to get better so I can finally move forward in the game. I keep up well with the other animals so I literally have to keep the game open & walk away for almost half an hour before I can come back & play again. Very, very frustrating.
Employees marked as cleaners should not be able to clean the vet rooms. There have been numerous occasions where I'm waiting on an animal to go to the bathroom & I walk away to tend to a different area briefly, the animal goes while I'm gone, & when I'm heading back to check them again the cleaner has already cleaned the vet cage & I can no longer get a stool sample & have to wait forever until they have to go again. In the meantime their health continues to decline & I eventually just have to make a wild guess on which medication I should give them & either end up "killing" them or begin to cure them but have no time estimate on when I should give the next dose or a whole other medication entirely. This could all be prevented if cleaners couldn't clean the vet cages.
I think another addition should be to add a laxative medication &/or an appetite stimulant. The above problems could also be fixed this way.
Overall I enjoy the DLC & will continue to play, but I think if you're looking for a more relaxed playthrough I would avoid this
DLC. If the devs can update the game with those issues fixed I think this DLC would make for an excellent gameplay experience.
