I really wish i could give this a mixed review just because theyres so many things that i want people to understand about this. its alright as a DLC, and for $10 youre not getting ripped off, but its not very long. especially since the industry standard is $20 and $30 DLC's which are built to last 20+ hours. this took me 2.5 hours after completing my second playthrough. I was expecting more, but i paid like $5 in a bundle on sale, so i'm not mad.
As for the actual content, its a fair bit more difficult due to your weapons being stripped down, and the enemies being less forgiving. the first 20 minutes consisted of trying not to get 3 shot by the enemies since i didnt have any health kits yet, and the game wasnt very explicit as to the new glove ability and polymeric shield being default. The puzzles were reasonably engaging, and the combat did actually make me use my brain, but got frustrating on higher difficulties. Another word of warning: similar to the main game you get no say in the story, except none even at the end. this is an epilogue to the story canonizing an ending and paving the way for the next DLC (i assume because i havent played it yet). Theres nothing wrong with just telling a story,. I dont need to be able to influence the story in every game i play, its nice to sit back and watch sometimes.
One last thing though: this is a bit buggy. and not in an unobtrusive way. the new gun has reloading bugs, the mission markers in the Mendeleev complex are screwy, and I had a couple of the beads disappear during the final puzzle, prompting a reload that cost me a solid 15 minutes.
7/10 its passable and worth it when on sale. anything firmly under $10 is worth it, $7.50 is the most i'd pay.
