The Initiation DLC gives players a look at Bruce Wayne during his period of travelling the world and learning all the combat styles and strengths he would later utilise as Batman.
Playing as Bruce (With a bonus Vigilante skin for use in other challenge maps) gives new gadgets and some restricted combo moves unlike the full freedom of Batman and Deathstroke. The Zip Kick returns from Robin in Arkham City alongside a double Shuriken, the useless Caltrops from Catwoman in City and Kujiki Bombs which in combat sets up the multi-ground takedown and in Predator completely hides Bruce from enemy vision for a very limited time.
Initiation brings five new maps (Three combat, two Predator) and a campaign that has pre-determined modifiers. Beating this campaign as Bruce unlocks it for both Batman and Deathstroke however beating the campaign is not required for those two being able to play the five maps in regular ranked and custom modes.
The campaign also has three different endings based on however medals you're able to earn during the campaign.
Overall for a new set of maps, a map campaign with some story as well as a whole new character to play as for other challenge maps, Initiation comes highly recommended from me but is more valuable bundled with the Season Pass.
