Amazing game. One of my all time favourites. I can't understand what happened. Yes they fumbled the ball, abandoned it too early to chase a trend and never came back, but like... Why? They cared. They still care. There's even characters from this in their new game, V-Rising.
They weren't the only ones who cared either. They had a passionate player base. People still to this day miss the potential this game had, myself included. I'll never understand how they could abandon it like this. This is the game they always wanted to make and the game so many always wanted to play. It was so close to perfection. It just needed support, like every online game does.
There's other developers making games that are inspired by this. We can only hope they will do even half as good a job and have just a tiny bit of persistence.
Or V-Rising could get an arena mode. That would be good too, if they don't end up getting distracted by another gaming trend. The way things have gone, we might be more likely to get vampire nfts on the blockchain instead.
