This game used to be innovative, you actually had to think about what moves to throw out and specific times, now it's Chess with extra steps. New Characters are great and all but this game feels like 2D For Honor, new character comes out completely busted and it takes months for it to be fixed. There is an obvious favouritism when it comes to weapons, a lot of time and effort seems to go into developing weapons with the most free shit to give, i.e Scythe, Boots, Orb and Gauntlets. I understand changes are inevitable but at the same time, I feel like the devs are smoking some new kinda Crack that we don't know about. This game is built with the pros in mind, the pros playtest new shit and features and provide feedback that is advantageous to them and not the casual player. I started playing way back in the beta with the Founders and Friends Pack, I know most of the old OCE top pros and still talk to a few of them and we all share the same opinion, this game had a magic that was individual to it when it first released and in its first few years, the Ubisoft got involved and it was all downhill from there.
I wanted to write a positive review but in all honesty, the game is toxic as shit, Ranked is broken and I can't queue without getting someone at least 50-100 ELO higher then me, too many weapons are prioritised and a lot of others are left in the dust, allowing for players to abuse superior frame data and hitboxing with no notable change for some years now, it is clear that the dev team only care about new charactes, colours, merch, tournaments and battlepasses. I truly wanted to come back and give it another go, but the magic just isn't there anymore.
