Greetings! Fox Company Rangers is a DLC…within a DLC and I have some serious concerns about the value of this DLC. Well, I bought it and were my concerns well founded? Let’s discuss!
American Nesting DLC: What do you get… A new Faction, nope. A new sub-faction for the new faction...Yes! …Well, Kind of. You don’t get it in multiplayer (this includes AI skirmish for some reason) and it plays exactly like the other with just some unique call-ins and its own skill chart for the campaign. But again, it’s just in the campaign; you can’t use it in any other format. I like Rangers and love this game, so I bought this, albeit discounted. It’s also incredibly powerful, easily the most powerful of the doctrines in the campaign.
I don’t know how it plays in multiplayer though, probably will never know. Having to pay for what equates to a doctrine within a faction that in itself is a DLC which doesn’t even work with single player skirmishes and needing another DLC to play multiplayer. That’s 3 DLCs to play a single faction holistically. And I’m not even convinced that’s all of them, the DLC is such a mess and some even appear to overlap. I can definitely see what people think of when they say ‘predatory monetization’ and I just can’t recommend this. Enjoy!
