Counter Strike: Condition Zero was a very similar but different at the same type sort of game. It was still CS with the guns and the graphics, the sounds... But the way they did missions had changed a lot. Instead of just normal matches like you'd expect you had to do several "missions" you got to choose your own teammates which all had different levels of skill and bravery and they had only 1 gun they'd use. The enemies would change depending on the mission and the missions were super simple. It was like a normal CS match except you had to complete some side objectives "kill the entire enemy team by yourself, get 5 kills with an AK" type of stuff. Not bad but definitely not the best. So whats Deleted Scenes like? Well from what I understand its meant to be "here's what Condition Zero was meant to be but we couldn't finish it so we're giving this half finished version" apperantly it was meant to be a linear campaing, something entirely new for the CS series. So is it any good? Well yes surprisingly. There's some good variety here with where you go and what you do. Try to recover pilots from crashed helicopters in South America, try to disarm an ex-Soviet nuke in Siberia, protecting a VIP in Japan from terrorist attacks... There's a few new guns, lots of new equipment and a few new terrorist and counter terrorist factions too.
+The gameplay is still the fun, old CS gameplay.
+Looks good, sounds good, plays well and ran without any issues. The graphics etc is classic CS anyways.
+This linear campaing style is very fun. The missions aren't really connected to each other in any way its just you playing as different counter terrorist members all over the world and trying to finish whatever mission you're meant to do. Sometimes guns blazing, sometimes trying to sneak into somewhere without being detected. Even a few boss battles. Nothing too interesting the boss battles are just shoot them till they die but they exist.
+Tons of locations and they all look great. Lots of new equipment they're mission specific of course, a few new guns like a LAW-72, M60, some new factions for the T and CT teams, a few cool enemy types like suicide bombers and guys with machetes. They both literally run at you and try to kill you.
-I played the campaing from start to finish and after the campaing there's a "world map" it shows you where all the missions took place on a world map and you can replay any if you wish without needing to do the entire campaing all over again. My complaint is that I saw a few extra missions that I don't remember playing through in the campaing. That was weird... After reading the wiki apperantly its meant to be that way, just a few extras.
-At certain points the game does feel buggy and unfinished. I had to use god mode and no clip several times to get past some stuff. It feels as if especially in some boss battles if you do fuck ups earlier and go in with less health and ammo you are doomed to fail. One of the boss battles is like this there's a guy in a church and he has a bomb planted. You gotta defuse it in like 30 seconds or die, the defusing itself takes 5-10. There's a sniper and then there's the boss. You can kill the sniper before entering the boss area not sure if thats a bug or not. The boss himself throws nades all the time and whenever you're out in the open he shoots at you and he does a lot of damage. Like I mean I went from 100 health to 20 in 2 seconds kind of damage. There are medkits thrown all over the place but going after them means you just get shot in the back. The time limit combined with the boss' health and how much damage he does... I could not win. Here's another boss battle a Harrier jet plane takes off from a ship and starts shooting at you with rockets and guns. You have an AWP and a few boxes you can hide behind, some breakable some not. Shoot at the jet till it goes down. Easiest boss battle of my life, literally took no damage. This is a general issue with balancing I think.
-Again, balancing. The game feels very unfair at times. I poke out from a corner and there's an enemy waiting in that corner and he immediately shoots me. I poke out from a window and bam. It even feels as if enemies are spawning behind me and attacking me. My own guys, the AI shot me in the back several times. I'm not sure if its something to do with AI, something to do with the general balancing... It can be annoying at times especially the enemy LAW soldiers... As far as I'm aware it is an unfinished game so... I can't blame it too much.
-If you don't check out the world map after you finish the campaing you will miss out on extra missions. A pop up text would be good, letting me know there's extra stuff. Again unfinished game but either way.
Not a bad game at all. Surprisingly fun even. Most of the time I couldn't even tell the game was unfinished. There were some sections that felt broken or buggy and I had to use cheats to get through it but those were rare. Definitely more interesting and fun then Condition Zero itself.
