should be able to jump up to and walk on ceilings, as well as do tail attacks from the ceiling, like in both alien and aliens films. you can't, and the alien as a killer is kinda mid. can get around maps fairly well, but while the tail attack mechanic itself has good range, it is very narrowly focused and survivors can crouch to dodge it as well. killer moves fast i guess, but feels slow in chase vs anyone good at looping you in a chase as they'll likely waste a lot of your time. ripley as a survivor doesn't have the appearance of ripley from the films, and alien romulus is straight cheeks as a film so that skin is equally booty, meaning the only really good option for skins on offer here is the base alien skin which is default and the alien queen skin which will cost you ~$15 to unlock. oh and killer perks were apparently nerfed at some point so ultimate weapon isn't as good as it used to be, and ripley's perks are fine but also mid.
if you aren't into the alien ip, you can probably skip this one. otherwise, as stated, the alien as a killer is pretty medium, not the best in a chase, has a limited power and can be bothered by the flame throwers provided to survivors just by playing as the alien. ripley is medium but for the fact that jones the cat shows up in lobby animations, and none of her perks are top tier meta stuff that you need to compete either.
alien could've been implemented much better, and ripley could use design upgrades - assuming that there are likeness rights issues with sigourney weaver because otherwise there's no reason for her to look so dissimilar to her appearance in the films. also, the lack of other alien franchise characters - ash, parker, lambert, etc - as survivors or unlockable survivor skins, means that this dlc doesn't have a lot to offer other than chasing people around as the alien and having a 50% match win rate due to it being kinda underpowered with a weak set of addons to boot.
i like alien, so i'll give it a thumbs up, but tldr on score is 6.5/10 could've been way better and is easily skippable unless you are into the ip; at best, buy it on sale
