Ahh, what now?!
The mid-chapter that came along with this paragraph brought so many good changes like the Key Nerf, Hatch Nerf, Spirit Counterplay, Plague Quality of Life change relating to her swallowing her puke, Introduced number values to add-ons instead of descriptive terms like 'Moderately and Tremendously' so that we wouldn't need to check the wiki every time, removed cooldowns from information perks like Windows of Opportunity, etc... but they just had to screw over everything they had been building up to with Boon Totems.
You literally don't need to be afraid of the killer to any capacity if there are 1 or 2 Boons that cover more than half the map.
Killers do not need extra objectives, their power alone and the fact that there is such a diverse variety of killer powers are enough to satisfy killer mains from not getting bored of the game any time soon. Giving survivors unique objectives like removing traps, turning off TVs, etc. are all fine and dandy because I am much more chill while playing survivor and since I won't always be in a chase or wasting away at a generator, I would go about trying different objectives like trying to sabotage, flashlight save, or even setting up a boon that killers would be able to deal with in a different way than going to a spot, aligning themselves to a small corner in order for the 'Snuff Totem' prompt to appear, and wait 1 second for the hatch-close animation to play out.
So no, it isn't a great argument to say that killers should just snuff the boons in order to stop the OP perks from play, but here's the thing: as a survivor, why would I not want 1 or more of my perks to not be present in the trial? If I brought it, that means I have to use it, and if the killer snuffs it, I would be inclined to just keep wasting my time blessing more totems, not getting gens done, extending the match to excruciating levels. If there was a personal cooldown after my totem has been snuffed or that specific totem being blocked for a certain time after being snuffed or being able to just hit or throw a projectile at the totem to bless so that the killer has some return on investment for spending their time and going out of their way to clear the area of effect or at least be able to do it fast enough that it doesn't let the survivor leave the loop that I was chasing them on.
All the Boon perks released as of March 2022 act as an 'area of effect' advantage, except for Circle of Healing. It is the only Boon perk so far that can affect your pressure even when you, the killer, are not even in the Boon's gigantic range because survivors can run to it, get healed on their own, and do whatever they please without needing to worry about wasting time to look for another survivor to heal or go looking for a medkit in chests.
Why were medkits so powerful? Because it let you heal yourself to full health at normal speed without needing to take time out of another survivor because if you are being healed by another survivor, it is 2 people who are not doing gens in the trial, which is good pressure for the killer. But with Circle of Healing, you're basically given an infinite amount of medkits for the cost of 1 perk from 1 survivor, giving you enough slots to bring even more powerful perks and items such as toolboxes, flashlights, etc. and if it were that another survivor was healing you within the Boon, you are healed so quickly that the amount of time it took the killer to hit you didn't even result in the amount of pressure he would've normally gotten if another survivor healed you.
If the survivors are specifically good, then they can chase the killer around for a very long time, and when you are in danger, other survivors who can keep healing can force protection hit for you, giving them a speed boost, slowing the killer down, and giving you enough time to run to another safe area. You can pretty much do this infinitely because unlike Exhaustion, there is no cooldown to the speed boost you get after taking a hit from healthy to injured. So if you make enough distance after taking a hit and confused the killer enough, you could've just taken a two-man out and healed up within seconds (true story)
Shadowstep is fine, but pretty much counters BBQ even from a distance without needing to enter lockers so even Iron Maiden wouldn't help, which makes the combo completely unreliable. Since the range of Boons goes in the Y-Axis as well, on multi-storied maps, it isn't as easy as seeing Scratch Marks not appearing or hearing the sound of the Boon in order to snuff it because it is in a whole other floor... this is why killers should also be able to see Boon auras whilst in the area of effect at least. Shadowstep truly makes it hell to track healthy survivors because one glance away, and you're at risk of losing the entire chase because you don't even have blood to follow.
Clairvoyance isn't an information perk, it is used to push Killers off ledges and prevent Myers from killing you with Tombstone.
phew... now that that rant is over... let's talk about MyKela:
Is she supposed to represent the Harry Potter universe because she looks more like a pilgrim than a witch? Maybe a look like The Witcher 3's witches/ sorceresses would have suited it more? Maybe we can all just consider her as Hermione Granger and call it a day. I used to sometimes get the urge to tunnel out Mikaelas in the game in order to prevent Boons overriding the entire flow of the match/ prevent it being set (similar to what we do to Adams to prevent Deliverance), but now I just bring 'Plaything-Pentimento' to deal with that.
