Owned all the characters for awhile now. Bought this just to give it a review.
If you're a new player and you want a jump start on the game, this is a great purchase! It's about half the price of the game and goes even cheaper during sales so it's not a bad choice as a beginner!
This DLC has two great survivors for beginners in the form of Feng Min and Kate Denson. Feng Min comes with three amazing perks for new players including Technician (doesn't alter the killer if you blow up a generator), Alert (great for tracking the killer), and Lithe (great perk to get more distance in a chase.) Kate Denson comes with the perk Windows of Opportunity which is FANTASTIC to learn the game.
There's also two great killers for newer players too, including The Doctor and The Clown. Clown comes with two great perks for beginners: Pop Goes the Weasel (a nice perk to slow down generators) and Bamboozle (allows you to stop survivors from vaulting a window too many times.) Clown also has a very simple power that can help you learn the game and how to chase players.
Doctor has some alright perks such as Overcharge (makes it harder for survivors to do gens in low-skill lobbies) and Monitor & Abuse (a great perk to make it harder for survivors to know where you are.) He also has a very simple power that can help you easily find survivors and stop them from running away from you.
This DLC also comes with more advanced characters in the form of Adam Francis (rewards helping others), Ace Visconti (Open Handed and Ace in the Hole can help make other perks / builds stronger), The Hag (more strategic killer with powerful temporary perks), and The Spirit (sound-based killer with very high lethality and unique perks that punish survivors for fighting back.) These characters are good to pick up after learning the basics of the game with the other characters.
It's worth mentioning that all four of these characters can be purchased with the in-game currency that you earn for just playing. Not only that but they are very inexpensive too. But if you think you'll play Dead by Daylight for a long period of time and want to start your journey with a good foot forward this DLC isn't a bad option, especially when this entire product of 8 old characters costs slightly more than a new DLC with only 2 new characters.
9/10 purchase! Fantastic value for a new player! But buying the characters with in-game time-gated currency is an option if you don't want to spend cash.
