The most respect that Castlevania has received from anybody since Order of Ecclesia came out back in 2008. It's a good match and makes a good little download. The new music is good, the new bosses are fun (mostly, but I never really enjoyed fighting any of the tier-1 bosses myself), and the new stages are excellent have their own identity compared to the other biomes of Dead Cells. Even if you don't like Castlevania there's still plenty to enjoy.
Mostly you're buying it for the fanservice, though. The new outfits, the weapons, and the secrets tucked into the stages are all what the real draw is here, and ultimately I'm not quite certain it's worth the asking price. If you can find it on a 20% off sale, it's perfect, but there's a small blemish that other people have mentioned in their reviews.
There are two new stages, but one of them, Dracula's Castle, has two versions. One that is at tier 2, and one that is the final stage. The issue is that if you go to one version, you cannot return to the later version on the same run. Worse is that if you wish to attempt the later version, you also cannot even do the other stage, Castle Outskirts, at all. The two biomes are not organically connected to the rest of the game, so they're not as natural a part of your 'route' through the game as any other stage, and that's a real shame. Dracula's Castle definitely should have been saved as the endgame stage, with a third stage added for the DLC. With that done, I think people's complaints would have been alleviated. Also the Defiled Necropolis doesn't connect to the Graveyard and that just seems silly.
All in all, I personally love this DLC but it may not be for absolutely everyone. If, however, you at all liked the Castlevania of the pre-2010s, treat yourself and pick it up. It's pure love for the series that nobody has been giving it.
