The main deal here is the dungeon, Grasp of Avarice. Located on Earth. Which isn't that bad once you understand the mechanics and encounters down.
It can get in the weekly rotation of pinnacle challenges so not only are you levelling your character, but you're also getting the dungeon's respected exotic, which is the fabled Gjallarhorn. After acquiring this exotic rocket launcher, you get a quest for it's catalyst which makes it more powerful, and it's ornament if you do a small collectible hunt throughout the dungeon from beginning to end. It's also a lore dump that explains how the dungeon came to be, but overall the ornament is not essential.
Be warned you'll have to play through the dungeon several times if you want all of the rewards and quests complete but there isn't a timegate so you can complete these whenever you want. It's still a fun alternative to the other game's content it has to offer. But it's not without it's rewards.
Also includes dungeon-exclusive weapons, Artifice Gear and less important stuff like emblems, emotes, and vehicles. The last of which are collectible and show off your time spent and skill.
Gjallarhorn is a decent exotic on it's own if you want to play support with a rocket launcher. It essentially buffs your teammates non-exotic rocket launchers by giving them the same cluster bombs you have. But this on itself is a love letter to people who liked the first game's Gjallarhorn.
Another big thing here is the dungeon-exclusive weapons which includes: Matador 64, Hero of Ages, Eyasluna, and 1000 Yard Stare. These are the weapons you'll be acquiring after each encounter on repeat runs, and can be found within secret chests. Two of them can be found, and with there being 3 encounters, you can get up to 5 weapons per run.
-The Matador is a monster of a shotgun in PvP with it being a precision frame, but for PvE you can build it for melee damage.
-The Hero of Ages is a heavy sword that can roll for grenade builds and clear trashmobs for PvE. There's PvP perks but there's better swords out there for that.
-The Eyasluna is a favorite handcannon among many, great all rounder perks that both excel in PvP and PvE.
-The 1000 Yard Stare is a sniper that's mainly used in PvP, can't say much for PvE content.
All of these are great and you can look online to see what random rolls you want to grind out if you do end up getting this pack.
Be warned for the first two encounters you only get the shotgun and the sword, the final encounter has the potential to drop one of the four weapons. The chests can drop any of the 4 weapons.
Artifice Gear is essentially end-game armor where you can allocate an additional +3 stat boost to whichever stat you want. The artifice armor is not hugely crucial early to mid-game but this is what you'll be chasing when you've allotted so many hours into the game since it mainly drops in dungeons and raids, sometimes sold by Xur at the tower.
As a bonus you get additional stuff to unlock in Dares of Eternity, mainly armor sets and vehicles.
tl;dr
On sale I recommend it for those who want a dungeon, artifice armor and some great weapons. Another review told me they got it for around $2 and that's what I'd get this for.
