Before considering if this faction is right for you, I implore you to give the base game options a try.
A very fun faction. You strike a balance between building tall and building wide, which sounds like most standard factions but Vernius revolves entirely around it's "nodal network" which makes things interesting. Once you capture a village, a node must be placed on it to see the full benefit of the village and achieve everything the great house has to offer. Nodes are then chained together to create a network that spans the map, allowing you to harvest/buff neighboring zones even if you don't own them. This means you'll be all over the planet, but selectively building some villages up. In terms of combat you can choose to focus on either buffing your meks as much as possible or doubling down on the worthlessness of human life by throwing as many workers at your enemies as you can. Do you create quality technology or overwhelm your opponent with the quantity of subpar flesh? Both are options. When it comes to diplomacy, everyone wants what you have to offer. You can actually share your tech with your allies so say goodbye to sitting alone at lunch. In Dune all the kids want to be friends with the nerd. Overall, I enjoyed this house very much and don't even feel I'm scratching the surface of what can be done with it. The major downside is that I feel the price point is a little high.
