One of the weaker DLCs if you intend to play this game as a single player CIV-style game, if you get it be aware that it turns some lands quite inhospitable and might give you a really messy start unless.. You end up playing as the Kapaku, an enigmatic race of lava dwellers that make their home in the burning lands. The Kapaku are quite a snowballing type of faction that can get horrendous amounts of production going in a few short strides as well as having the audacity to also be quite fast growers due to their racial ability to eat lava.. The faction is fine but nowhere near as interesting as the other introduced via DLCs and are kind of a one trick pony.
Dust eclipses that are another selling point is interesting but adds another layer to an already quite layered cake. Personally I found the event quite middling and while adding some spice to the gameplay it is a rather mixed bag.
In the end this is a DLC you probably got from one of the mega bundles nowadays and if not, one you can easily live without. If you like the thought of volcanic tribal geoengineers from beyond then the Kapaku might be up your alley, but to me they were quite lackluster. Weak recommendation and only if you really like to go bonkers with this game's already impressive smorgasbord of content.
