So, I am going to be brutally honest about Fae Farm: Coasts of Croakia. I will state WHY I feel the way I do about the DLC and I will let you know if it is worth it or not but before I get into that, I want to state that I DO like FAE FARM on its own but this DLC feels like.. well, lets get to the review and you will see for yourself, so, let's get to it.
Cons/Issues
If you are in "END-GAME" stages of Fae Farm, this DLC is NOT a DLC. Its like a "CUT CONTENT" part of the game and sold separately. Let me explain below:
⚫Firstly - If you are in End-game Fae Farm you can complete this "DLC" in less than 10 minutes. More like 5 minutes if you are good at the game.
⚫Secondly - It only has 5, 6 or 7 MAIN quests and these are hardly... quests... its a "tool upgrade" system basically for a NEW tool called the "CRITTER CONCH" which lets you get a little critter companion to follow you. That's it.
⚫Thirdly - It does not add in a "NEW DUNGEON", FARM or any relative content to be worth its price. You can go the entire game without this DLC and not feel like you are missing out at all.
⚫Fourthly - The "map" is TINY. Like.... its not worth it at all.
⚫Fifthly - It only adds in ONE npc who gives you the quests for the conch (unless you count the BIG FROG)
⚫Sixth - I feel like the devs lied to us/Falsely advertised/poorly communicated to us about what the content would include (or at least they made it seem like it had and offered WAY more than what we got).
⚫Lastly - The "SCROLLS" are hidden in obscure locations. When I say OBSCURE I mean they are placed in the most counter-productive places you would ever think about. No guides to find these either online.
Pros/What it ACTUALLY offers
⚫Let me be frank - It offers a small map to run around on and CAPTURE frogs and other insects.
⚫Let me be frank #2 - It offers 1 SINGULAR new item. CRITTER CONCH to get a critter companion.
⚫Let me be frank #3 - You can get some cool looking decorations (if you can find all 20 scrolls)
⚫That's it. No joke. It offers NOTHING else.
My Verdict
If you have not bought this DLC yet and you have played Fae Farm a lot... this DLC will disappoint you beyond belief as it truly has nothing to offer you but an area to capture critters. That is it, oh, and a crappy companion.
Whereas/on the other hand, if you have NOT played Fae Farm a lot and you are just starting then this DLC will help you "MASS CAPTURE" critters to level your BUG CAPTURING skill, oh and give you a crappy companion.
So would I recommend the DLC you might be asking? No. No I would not. The developers made us wait 4 months for this DLC and it feels like it was "CUT CONTENT" from the base game already and if it was not.... I am ashamed of the developers for charging £10 for this especially after the wait. With lack of content.... this is a hard PASS for any FAE FARM player in my honest opinion.
2/10. It is not worth it at all. For £10 offering me less than 10 minutes of gameplay... this feels like "SCAM DLC"
