I wish there was a neutral hand-waggle option instead of just Yes or No for recommendations
I really enjoyed the first case, but the last one fell a little flat for me. Story-wise, I kind of feel like this DLC and the Lemurian Vampire set out to explain things that didn't really need explaining from the base game with regards to the idol's origins and such. The dialogue/thoughts felt a little clunky too, cutting a little too close to DC Dictionary with the placement of the selectable words and statement of character intent, and some of the story clues were a little too direct and on the nose after enjoying connecting the dots on my own in the base game. That all said, I enjoyed the encryption puzzles in the cases, and could see multiple ways of following logic to the solutions in the puzzles. Another extremely minor nitpick I have is the animation of the sprites int he dialogue boxes; it looks fine, but I personally preferred the style of the base game more.
I admit I did play these through late at night with the determination to finish up all parts of this game, so any puzzle frustration could have been solved by taking a break, though I was able to complete it without guides or hints, and I'm leaving room for that in my review... Basically, if you just want more puzzles to tide you over, it's fine, but I don't think it added anything to the base game
