The jobs are fine. You don't need them, though. Neither one makes a great primary job but they're both fun to use. I liked them, and they're not expensive.
Linebacker: it's a proper 'tank' job for the guys. It's also fairly fast compared to Adachis dective class.
+ Great animations, especially the essence skills. The class is really fun to use, and the starter pancake skill is pretty useful midgame.
+ Essence skills gives a team defense buff, which is useful. One of the more useful abilities on the class for sure.
- unfortunately it's a 'tank' in a game where you do not need a tank. It does do its job well, having high defense and some of the only 'rage' inflicting skills in the game, but you simply won't need any of it after around chapter 10-12.
- rage application simply isn't very good. Even with weapon brands increasing the chance of it, it still seemed to barely work, even on standard enemies and very very rarely on bosses.
Tennis Ace: pretty good damage, gives the girls better access to 'gun' damage type, and several great undodgable attacks which is very useful against some annoying normal enemies.
It is serviceable as a primary job, but I think it was better suited to augment other jobs. I think that's personal preference and whether you think this one is fun. All the damage dealing classes are about the same in overall damage output.
