And after Mafia and Mafia II we finally came to the third game. Where to start, First clearly it is mix of both games because you can see that they took from both. You can collect different posters... like you did in original game (or at least definitive version), driving is more is more similar to first game (M:DE) then second and so on.
Map is much much bigger, its better overal. Fighting is quite fluid and realistic and i really like that i do not need to spend whole clip when hitting someone in head. Very good. Comparing to the first two game, this game could be said that is open world, you can chose missions and do them whenever you want them (well mostly, and those are secondary ones) but still better then in first games. However story is not great. I mean basically like in some other games like GTA or perhaps in game that doesnt have anything to do with this Assassin Creed, you basically took lesser enemies, lieutenants and then you are after the main antagonist, you destroying enemy organisation piece by piece. While concept is okay, it is quite repetitive, basically same type of missiosn all over again, move this, destroy this, kill that target, interogate that target... same. Many players do not like this, and i am not fond of it to but i tolerate it because well its what it is and i do like making havoc in this game. Clearly game is not on level with first Mafia and not even with second game but it is longer there is more missions and more stuf for you to do. THere is also great selection of cars which are based on cars from 50's and 60s
and also great selection of firearms which for whatever reason no longer have their real names (weird i guess they spend to much on game and couldnt afford licencing).
Game also suffer from graphical issues, i have pc strong enough to run this 2016 game without problem and yet there are sometime some lag, graphics despite newer is of course not really at same level with Mafia Definitive Edition, i find M: DE graphics better. Its a bit donwgrade in M:III but still relativly enjoyable if not for issues, game never crashed (at least so far) but as i say it suffer from some problems that unfortunatley can ruin littlebit enjoyment. While story is not the biggest selling point, two things i will say are very good:
- Voice acting is amazing, i am glad that voice actor that played Vito in both previous games is also in M:III, it was good to have Scaletta again in game, even Galente was in game (for short time)
- soundtrack, apsofraking amazing, they got original real songs of 60s and this is great touch rather then making some shit for the game. Definitly approving. There is nothing better then running in cabriolet with Jefferson Airplane - Don't you want someone to love running from car, darn priceless.
Do i recommend this game, well sadly there is no button for mix review, because this game is a clusterfuck, it has good few things, but it is not on level of previous games, and again i dont want to give it negative review because so far i enjoyed it, even if its lagging from time to time, even if its repetitive, and so on... but still there are good things in it and i will recommend it. Buy it however on sale. It is not good enough for full price, sadly it is not and i cannot say this is full Mafia game because despite having the name it isnt. It is more mix between GTA/Saints Row/. If you are interested as i said before, buy it on sale.
