This is a tough game for me, this game does a great job at providing ample amount of people who you could be interested in, so there's no shortage of options to choose from. Some storylines are interesting and some others are just not my taste, but I am a completionist at heart so I decided to go down the rabbit hole and 100% the game. Here are my key takeaways:
Pros:
- The game is long but absolutely not as long as is advertised on the steam page, this game took me about 13 hours to complete and get every achievement and every ending. I feel the length of the game is great and sets out to achieve what it was trying to achieve. I believe most of the storylines are interesting enough and the moral dilemmas of each are well written for the most part.
- I recognize that there's not objective rating for each partner you can choose but I do generally like the amount of choice you have, every character has a different personality although some are a bit gimmicky, and some of the characters are just outright crazy. Some characters I was really interested while some I fought through to get the ending, This can't be classified as a pro or a con because everyone's preferences are different.
- from a technical standpoint this game runs very well without any noticeable issues or bugs, And I believe utilizing unity instead of Ren'py was the right choice for this game as coding in all the logic in Ren'py would've been a nightmare.
- Although you can see the age of the Daz models in the cgs, and some of the consequentially strange facial proportions on some of the characters, I believe all the characters look good and the cgs are all good quality, I'm not used to the older Daz model generations but overall the rest makes up for it.
Cons:
- As much as I like the slice of life and survival elements of managing your hunger, sleep, etc. I feel like this games makes it an absolute chore. There's no worse feeling than finally getting to that interaction you want to see to then realize that your character's mood is impeding you from proceeding. So you end up having to cancel the encounter to then wait for the next day to do the interaction again. Overall awesome Idea but it should've been toned down a little for my taste.
- The setting is unfortunately overused, and the plot is a little overused as well, the landlady and roomates, or just family if you want to be obvious, It being basically a harem simulator is not a bad thing but it should be noted that apart from a few thugs here and there, there doesn't seem to be any other male characters in the game which I thought was a little funny.
- There is no overarching story or big plot lines its just you developing your relationship with each character. So do not expect a grand story with big parts, it is simply a dating sim.
TLDR:
Overall good, game suffers from issues with the stat management and the story and overall plot are lacking, still, individual bachelor storylines are interesting even if the actual (Novel) is next to non existent. Pretty good sandbox dating sim but don't expect any grand story or plots as there are none.
note: Highly recommend using cheats if you don't like grind, there is no punishment for using them.
