The fish catching is a great addition to the game! I had fun trying to catch them all. And the added on-screen map is a HUGE help, thanks to the devs for listening!! However, in two instances, I noticed that the mini-map job indicator would sometimes tell you to go in the wrong direction? I noticed this when delivering the astrolabe and Yulu's bird. This might be some sort of bug.
To catch all of the fish, you'll need to play the game to get the strongest broom. So if you were like me and reset the game because you missed the sandcastle achievement, you'll have to play the game again. Which didn't bother me at all, as the game is short and the flying to me is like the web-slinging in Spider-Man: I enjoy doing it. :)

A very cute and fun game! I totalled an eight hour playtime over the weekend and I got a lot of fun from it! This is my first Chibig game and I’ve been meaning to play their games for a long time.
Don’t know why so many people are complaining about flying during the general game. At the start it’s quite tricky as Mika’s mobility is lower, but once you get wind tunnels and the boost broom I had no problems with navigation 99%* of the time. The collectibles and items were pretty easy to find, I only had to refer to a guide for a few of the delivery items and maybe for 5-10 collectibles.
I think a map visible outside the menu would be a great addition. I’ve read that the devs wanted the UI as clean as possible. You could totally stick the map in the top right corner and have it disappear when you’re moving and reappear when you stop (ala Animal Crossing: New Horizons style).
I think having multiple save files would also be a great add to the game. I had to restart mine after finishing everything else as I didn’t know destroying the sand castle would give me an achievement. There’s no other way to destroy it once you finish the game, as the kids have built it with cement.
*The only time I found broom navigation super annoying was during the newly added races. The second last race was probably one of the most frustrating things I’ve ever had to complete in a game. I think you really need to add another 5 seconds to the winning time for that one. You basically have to move perfectly or risk restarting the race.
It’s very good for an EA game! I look forward to more, I’ll just have to replay the whole game first.

Ah witchy games, how you have my heart. I had been following Mika since early announcements of the game (big fan of summer in mara) and was very much looking forward to living out my Kiki's delivery service dreams. While I very much loved and enjoyed this games I have a few qualms.
Let's start with the pros:
The game is GORGEOUS. Let's just be honest. The color pallet is beautiful and the design of everything from the water falls to the broom you ride was so well executed. I loved getting to know the characters and seeing all the different packages that everyone was sending, though I do wish there was a friendship system to show your progress with each person. The story was very cute with a wonderful twist at the end (no spoilers) I actually teared up a little. I didn't run into any game breaking bugs or stuck areas. Traversing the map is fairly easy and upgrading your broom just takes a little story work. I loved that I couldn't just skip through the game and had to play out almost the full game (aside a few collectables) before I could finish it. The pacing was very adequate for the content available.
Now for some cons:
Keep in mind this game is EA so I'm sure my qualms will be addressed in future, but for anyone looking to play sooner rather than later be prepared. The broom mechanics are a little wonky at first ESPECIALLY with the first brooms limited actions. You learn a boost move with later brooms that makes things much easier, but flying is a little haphazard. Breaking the big pots was also a huge pain. You have to be up high enough to make sure you "splat" on the the pot. You also have to land DIRECTLY on it or it won't break and depending on how high up you need to be aiming is a little annoying. My last game related con is that in the settings it only shows you controller mapping. I had a hard time figuring out all the keys for my keyboard and couldn't just go look at the mapping to help. My final con I think might just be a little bug, but I played most of the game on my deck and I found everything except the last outfit, but none of my achievements are registering and as an achievement hunter it makes me very sad.
Overall I love this game very much and look forward to any future updates <3

I like this game, but honestly, it needs more time to cook. I like flying and making deliveries, that core gameplay is great. But the other stuff needs work, and I feel like the game will be a better value once it's out of Early Access and the additional side content is there.
Biggest pro: Flying the broom is fun. The mechanics on keeping deliveries safe and dry are well handled. It delivers on the promise of playing a game version of Kiki's Delivery Service.
Also I do like the story. It is cute and cozy like you'd expect. I like a lot of the townspeople.
Biggest con: The world feels flat outside of the main story. The island is small and you quickly see everything there is to see. NPCs only talk to you if you're delivering a package. If you run into one after finishing the game, they just stand there and a speech bubble that may or may not be relevant pops up. There's no feeling that they see you. Major NPCs just vanish after their part of the story is over without a feeling that they left the town or just aren't there at the moment.
Also, there's a lot of quality of life features missing. It would be great if I could put pins on the map. The music cuts in and out, and I had a major story moment after a cutscene unfold in dead silence. There are map boards in the world and they don't seem to do anything. Tutorials pop up and vanish. I had to watch an LP to find something out when the relevant tutorial happened half an hour before I needed the information.
While I like the story and the central gameplay, more than anything, this feels like an Assassin's Creed 1 where the thing that makes it special is there but needs either a more polished 1.0 release or a sequel that actually delivers a game that lives up to its promise. If ALL you want to do is deliver packages for a few hours, by all means play it. I'm giving it a thumbs up because it does deliver (haha) on that. But if you want something more from it, a deeper experience or a livelier, more reactive world, this one will leave you disappointed.
