Definitively a very nice addition to your roster of clan, if you are willing to pay for a DLC that is...
Worth mentioning that I’ve seen some comments saying Snake Clan is pretty weak… Don’t listen to them. From my experience they are one of the very best and every tier list put them on S tier and it’s 100% justified. BUT the clan does rely on a good understanding of the game, so it probably won’t be a beginner friendly clan. The clan is also very aggressive by design so if you despise war on Northgard... probably won’t be your cup of tea.
Wanna have some OP clan for your solo play? Snake Clan got you covered:
- You start every game with your War-Chief which makes first year very easy. War-Chief scale with the years, have access to nice tech, tools, relic, at year 3-4 you will crush almost anyone
- Trouble dealing with wildlife? With one spell you can be rid of them and make them flee towards your enemies, later on you’ll be invisible to them entirely
- Early resources gains? You can steal from neutral territories form the start
- Pillaging your enemies and killing them? You have a new military unit to do just that
- Wanna have a strong trade with anyone, even enemies? You can do it
But wait… You’ll say to me: that’s what the Snake Clan do, alright, but what about the economy? Well it’d be the very weakness of the clan if you didn’t have a limited but powerful access to special tech from the whole roster of other clans:
- Wanna make 2 buildings of food each territory like the Rat Clan without any drawback? You got it
- Want to become the absolute bane of all living and to make a better Dragon Clan than Dragon Clan itself? Sure is doable with Draconic Frenzy on your side
- Trouble in paradise? Not enough happiness? Take Raven tech and forget about your problems
- You lack food areas? OK, we will call for lures like the Lynx Clan and gain 2 meat zones
- 2 relics like the Horse Clan? Yeah of course
- and many, many more.
The Snake Clan is just too good all around, its only weakness is the lack of fame, so you won’t be able to reach a fame victory. On the other hand, with very aggressive tech, your War-Chief being a RANGED unit (which enables some pretty wicked and ruthless attacks) making insanely good use of your military tools, with your relic, and a general “hit-and-run, kill them and hit-and-run again” philosophy… Oh well, guess you’ll just have to slaughter everyone, how troublesome.
