This review have some spoiler from each of the chapters of Poppy Playtime.
Ch.1 did great for setting up the story. Ch.2 was a bit of a let down because I didn't like the direction they were going with Ch.2. Sure there was good moment in Ch.2, like Mommy Long-leg finally getting what was coming for her, and...this is a spoiler for ch.2, finally getting to see the prototype. But that was all i pretty much like about ch.2. However, Ch.3 is the right direction for the series as a whole. I love how they did Ch.3 like what they did with Catnap and the section we had to go through like Home Sweet Home, I love the PT, resident evil feeling I gotten from it. I love Catnap is stalking us and hiding in the shadow. The school was fine, I wasn't really happy with the teacher, but than again, I was planing that section on a crappy computer. So I played it again on my better computer and it was fine. Getting to the Playhouse part, boy was I not prepared for it. Sure I did watch YouTuber play that part, I knew of Dogday, but I still wasn't prepare for it. At first I thought the whole section was underwhelming, quoting from Pastra here, but until I gotten to the cell block, my opinion quickly change for the better. Mob did something that I haven't seen other mascot horror game do at all and Mob had the gut to do it. The only thing I kind of didn't like about Ch.3 was some of the puzzle, they seem to gotten boring at some point. And Catnap final boss was fine, I hate the learning curve I had to go through, but the boss fight was fine. I'm super excited for Ch.4 and I'll be getting Ch.4 when it come out next year.
