An excellent Picross/Nonogram game with puppies! Or a good game with good bois!
Upfront the vibrant colours catch your attention, but aren’t too strong as to become grating. The pixel art is quite cute and the variety of dogs as well as items is vast. Equally the variety in the grids is vast too as they don’t always show the same type of picture for each dog, instead some show the side profile of the dog while others view the head in a close up, etc.
The soundtrack is upbeat and cozy, perfect for this type of game.
Besides the common picross/nonogram gameplay you can also use the various things you unlock by completing the grids to decorate a decent sized garden space, which gives you an additional incentive to unlock everything and is a fun creative activity!
There are many lovely little details in the dogs and items you can unlock as well as the achievements and even the menu, which holds some surprises for completionists.
Each world somewhat resets the difficulty at the start before increasing it gradually, which achieves a great balance of challenge and the feeling of achievement. The difficulty increases gradually throughout the entire game overall as well with the first few worlds still having 5x5, while later ones only have 10x10 and upwards. Personally I really like this way of raising the difficulty while providing a practically guaranteed sense of accomplishment at the start of each world.
Overall this game is everything it promises to be. A great picross/nonogram game wrapped up with a cute theme and a love for detail in a joyful and engaging experience. Well worth the price in my opinion for the quality and time you can spend with the game.
And yes, you can pet each and every dog!
