Once again, I'll say I love the base game. I even liked N'Erud more than most I'd say. However, this DLC is the worst of the bunch. Horrendous level design. The gliders are just...a choice I'll never understand. They're slow, cumbersome and not well thought out. The whole DLC is just annoying. I can't describe it any other way because it wasn't fun to go though. Side dungeons were more annoying than fun (the frogger dungeon dodging trains is just goofy honestly). Bugs galore. Spark's quest is just MMO level grinding that doesn't make sense. Sure, if you're just starting the game and get the questline it makes sense, but as someone who's endgame with a majority of the items in the game...grinding Alloys is just tedious. Warden is a neat archetype, but the robot blocks my shot too often. The new items, weapons, amulets, relics, and rings are rock solid. It's just a shame that exploring the DLC just isn't very fun. Final boss is really fun to fight too.
Boss Rush. Listen, I know it's free, but it came out with the DLC. It's...cool. Survivor from Remnant 1 was more of what I was hoping for. I mean the game has procedural generation baked into the game and enough build variety to really lean into a roguelike game mode, but they chose a low effort, Boss Rush mode that is buggy and lazy. Lydusa should be reworked entirely as it's infeasible on higher difficulty levels. Honestly, boss health in general is a bit all over the place and needs to be balanced better. Dispatcher enemy buff should be reworked as it can teleport you off a ledge. Alloys should be able to be farmed in Boss Rush. As many issues as I have with the mode, it is fun (because Remnant 2 has incredible gameplay) and increases the replay value of the game, but they opted for the laziest option which seems to be a running theme for the DLC. It would also be nice if you could get rings, relics, weapons, amulets, etc tied to quests from it as well.
Prisms. My only critique is that they're poorly explained and too grindy. This game did not need MMO level grind and yet here we are. The idea itself is fine, but it takes too long to level them up.
Overall, this DLC is just plain bad. It's unfortunate that the game is going out on such a bad note, but Gunfire opted for making the most phoned in and annoying DLC that they could and succeeded. I hope they iron out the bugs and continue to balance the game. Personally, I would've much preferred if (instead of three smaller DLCs in each world) they opted to just do one single DLC that's a whole new world to explore. Remnant 2 deserved better than THIS.
