Pros:
-Adds barbarian and druid classes
-Uses inspiration from community contest to create subclasses for each
-Adds half-orc ancestry
-Wanderer background origin
-Active, responsive developers
Cons:
-Character class availability still incomplete
-I need warlocks next please
-No new story content (single side mission from Wanderer background notwithstanding)
Overall: Alright, this is a very straightforward DLC. You get barbarian and druid classes, the half-orc ancestry, and a new backstory option. That's what you get, and it costs you $9.99. Make your choice.
Now let's talk why I recommend this. Is $9.99 a good price? I think it's absolutely fair. Yes, it would have been nice to have all class options available in the vanilla version of the game. But I know I've paid more for less content elsewhere (lookin' at you, EA). This is a small developer on their first game, and they released a complete, full package of a game that does not require DLC in order to play to completion, and then added in the sorcerer class after the fact as a free update per their kickstarter promise.
They have done everything they said they would do. They are still handing out free updates. One came out for free alongside this DLC. They are still fleshing out the Dungeon Maker to allow broader content and interactivity so that, hopefully, we can start to see more refined user-created campaigns. They have hammered out bugs constantly as the community finds them. They have created a faithful adaptation of 5th edition dungeons and dragons on the computer, using only the SRD and their own creativity.
They have 18 people, and they have done all of this.
You do not need this DLC to enjoy the full game. This DLC adds options for types of characters you can play, and the added options for characters are fully developed and impactful, not just superficial changes. The price point is beyond fair when I think about how much I would pay for a WotC official published book with the same content in it. I paid $9.99 to be able to use tortles, and that's just a single ancestry option.
I gave Eidos Montreal $5 for a better in-game sniper rifle. I gave Arkane Studios $20 for a James Bond outfit and a silenced pistol. I have absolutely no reservations for giving Tactical Adventures $9.99 for actual fully developed in-game character options.
Bottom Line: Absolutely recommend. Give these guys more money so they can keep making more cool stuff.
