Have you ever engaged with a game or another art form and knew the creator loved the topic so much, that the love transcended what was made?
This game is a healing game. There is no other classification for this game aside from that.
There is just a moment which hits you, and it continues to hit you, which is that the makers aren't delivering you a product to play, they are delivering their love and hope.
There was never going to be a scary story, or anything like that, there was never going to be groundbreaking gameplay. The way they view their cats, colours the entire world. This small team desperately wanted to show you about how much they love your pets, their pets, the future pets, and the hope that through what they created, you would feel it too.
I did.
I don't think I've played a game quite so over-pouring of love. And so unconditional. I've opened to play a cute little cat game and instead they've plopped a little orb in my hand that emits 'I love every pet and I hope one day everyone loves them too' and it's so earnest and pure, I felt healed.
From the cat purring while staring at you, to them displaying affection on every person they can, to the very obvious enjoyment the team had at animating and putting in every cat and every pet of their team and supporters.
The love for cats, pets, for their city - everything was them trying to tell us they love and want the world to love too.
Either you receive the message or you were never the type of person to understand it to begin with.
Recommend for: Anyone who had ever held their pet and said 'I love you'.
