If you intend to buy this DLC in order to play more traditional teardown levels then I wouldn't bother. Although there are missions in this format the 5 or so that I have done are uninventive, uninteresting, and incredibly easy. One mission even extends the traditional 60 second time limit which confuses me because it is entirely possible to do in under a minute. It took me about 5 hours to complete the entire DLC not including these side missions because I honestly couldn't care enough about them, and I honestly enjoyed the concept of it. I have always loved the driving physics of this game and this DLC is no different. There is a good amount of variance in the racing maps so I never got bored of just seeing any single map. My favorite part of the DLC was the extras because they each added some additional element that was either creative or impacted the gameplay positively. Other than that, the DLC has a lot of glaring issues with it. The ai seems to value hitting the player over any other action in the game, even to the point of driving off the map. I have also seen a lot of people complain about how the ai cars drive faster than the player, but I believe this is how the difficulty of the game should be influenced, incentivizing the player to drive better than the ai rather than just being faster than them. However, the influence of the ai to go out of their way to hit you increases the difficulty of the DLC in a way that is neither competitive nor fun. My next biggest complaint is that the derby levels are just boring. All of the derby levels are incredibly easy and play out the exact same way. In the extras they at least have interesting vehicles to use, but in the main campaign they are just the exact same thing on repeat. Honestly the worst thing about this DLC is the monster truck racing levels. The monster truck flips over incredibly easily after hitting any object which makes it a nightmare to use while racing, especially later in the DLC when the cars are faster, exacerbating the issue. Playing the monster truck racing level on the farm map was quite possibly the worst experience I have had playing a game; there is not a single part of that map that doesn't have some obstacle that will flip you over if you are going faster than a disabled baby. The last issue I have with the gameplay of the DLC is that the maps aren't designed with the speed of the cars later in the game in mind. With how fast the cars are after maxing them out it makes it so a lot of the shortcuts aren't feasible and any jumps just launch you into the ceiling or off the map. Lastly, I don't really think there's a lot of replayability in this DLC. I can't see myself ever coming back and wanting to play these races again past the first time, which dissapoints me because I feel like that should be the one thing a racing game should have. My greatest disappointment is that this just isn't teardown; there is no element of the original game in this DLC past some random side missions thrown in which have no real incentive to complete, and again are just boring and easy. Overall I don't think there is really any reason to buy this DLC. There are so many other games similar to this that do it better than this can and it lacks any signature or defining features.
