I played this originally 7-8 years ago back in my 360 days.
I was in my teens. I cried like a baby.
I went through the whole five stages of grief! YMMV.
It was good enough that I bought it again on Steam and just yesterday bought the Definitive Edition - yup, I'm gonna play it a third time!
Now was my 2nd run as good as my 1st? Pretty much.
But since I'm older and my taste is far more refined, I did notice one or two things that irked me a little bit. The whole game is about the story and that choices matter... That's the case mostly but the thing is, there's A LOT of things that are simply unavoidable, e.g. people dying and basically just how the story goes. It's going where it's going with or without you. It doesn't really matter how hard you try - shit will happen.
I don't want to spoil anything but there was one scene where someone was a sussy baka and anyone with more than one brain cell could tell that this person was guilty (he/she pretty much confessed) but instead of the game doing away with this character, it does away with the other more likeable character. Because? Plot. Then there was a point where you could abandon your group and go with someone else but the game doesn't let you. Because? Plot.
A lot of the choices matter are pretty much just bits of dialogue being different or people treating you differently/referencing something you did/said and a few times you'll either be stuck with person A or B for a time. There's not much more difference in the game A-Z than that. Maybe I'm expecting too much but I think it's pretty linear. Don't expect to be have a whole different experience based on your choices - there's slight differences. That's all.
Nonetheless, it's an amazing game and I 100% recommend it. Still a 10/10 from me.
