That's it. Thats the whole DLC.
Gonna be serious here, the DLC is fine. The new weapons are good, the map is great.
But the entire concept of the DLC is just... illfiting.
Yes, I know I am talking about a game where you can play as a dog, a tree and a guy that throws furniture out of Kinder Eggs.
There is just so many other games that could be made into a tie-in, but Amogus?
Amogus itself is not that used on the DLC. I mean, the game is a social deduction game about tiny bean astronauts doing mudane tasks. How do you translate that to a survivor game?
Well, you don't.
There are like 9 new characters (8 normal, 1 super powered secret), with a new weapon and passive related to each.
Most of them are in an unlock chain, you need to first save the red Amogus, then you can evolve his weapon to unlock the next Amogus, to then evolve his weapon and keep the chain going.
The map itself is good. Less of a labyrinth than the other two DLCs, and the tasks gimmick forces you to stay on the move.
The enemies are 95% not related to Amogus, which is one of the reasons why I feel this DLC is illfiting.
Most of the enemies are bats, zombies, aliens, robots, Gort from The Day the Earth Stood Still, Nemesis T-Type and Tripods.
Four enemies are actualy Amogus memes. The chicken nugget, a trash can, a Lego piece and a boss with the "Amogus eye trick".
Reading poncle's post on why there aren't achievements on this DLC and that he won't be able to control the price made it feel like he was being held hostage by something outside his control.
The money must have been pretty good, but is it worth not having control on something you created?
While I did enjoy the DLC, for me this is just another chapter on the overused and still rising trend of "thing you know" collabs, because why just get the money of your fanbase when you can get the money of several at once.
I think this was just a massive wasted opportunity. There are SO MANY other games that could have a better fitted collab with VP.
"Other Survivors" DLC, anyone? A DLC where other Survivor inspired games like Brotato, 20 Minutes Till Dawn, Boneraiser Minions, Halls of Torment and Spellbook Demonslaeyrs join in a collab of pure bullet storm madness?
Or even a Castlevania DLC? Hell, if Dead Cells managed to get one, VP also has a chance.
Now that would be great.
