FAQ I Ask Shadow Anything Vol.6
First of all, we would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to all the supporters of Delta Force. It's truly heartwarming to see so many DF fans enjoying our game.
We have been closely following discussions in the community and have noticed some concerns regarding issues such as security, network, and performance. Today we will address these concerns and provide responses to each.
In terms of general game balance for gameplay, Operators, and game mechanics, we have already released several updates designed to offer improvements and we will continue to do so in order to ensure that the entire game remains fair and fun to play.
1. Why do you use Kernel Level anti-cheat? Is it monitoring us?
Anti-cheat measures are an essential element of online shooters, and in our game we aim to provide players with a fair and enjoyable gaming environment by employing the most professional and effective anti-cheat methods.
For Delta Force, we utilize a Kernel Level anti-cheat mechanism, which has already been successfully implemented in games like CrossFire and League of Legends.
Despite our strict anti-cheat measures, we have still encountered instances of Kernel-level cheats. In such cases we have quickly taken action to ban the cheaters and block the use of those tools.
Since the launch of the PC Open Beta on Dec 5, we have banned 1,107 cheaters, with a ban duration of 10 years for each. We have also banned 781 devices and have actively prevented cheating behavior in real-time, resulting in 1,251 instances of blocking and 3,230 kicks.
Moving forward, we will regularly publish updates on anti-cheat measures and ban lists within the community, ensuring real-time communication with players. If you come across any cheating behavior, we encourage you to use the in-game reporting feature to report it.
2. Does the game have Skill-Based Matchmaking (SBMM), and can it be removed?
I believe that a professional SBMM solution takes various factors into account when making decisions. These factors include win rate, mode preferences, KD ratio, and game score mechanisms, which determine a player's skill level and match them with similarly skilled players. However, I feel that this mechanism doesn't align well with Delta Force, as we aim for a more random and pressure-free gaming experience for players. Therefore, we do not use SBMM.
In our Open Beta, we have observed a significant influx of new players to Delta Force who may not be familiar with the gameplay and modes. To provide a smoother learning experience for these newcomers , we have divided the game into separate matchmaking pools for new players and more experienced players, allowing everyone to progress and learn at their own pace.
We have also seen feedback from creators in the game community regarding issues such as high ping values or longer matchmaking times. I can confirm that this is not due to SBMM. As Warfare mode requires 64 real players in different regions and time zones, there is a certain amount of waiting time involved. Additionally, the need for multiple game starts and map requirements, along with the necessity of ensuring good network latency, can result in some players experiencing high ping or longer matchmaking times.
However, as we continue to add more servers and attract more players to Delta Force, we will optimize the overall gaming experience and I believe these issues will be resolved. In the future, we hope that everyone will enjoy an entertaining and stress-free gaming experience.
3. Regarding Ranked Mode, there seems to be no difference whether it is selected or not. Do players who choose either ranked or unranked end up in the same lobby?
I apologize for the confusion caused by a localization issue in our game. We take this matter seriously and will make the necessary corrections.
I can assure you that the matchmaking in "Ranked Mode" does not take player scores into account. Our intention was simply to find teammates for everyone as quickly as possible, considering reasonable ping values and player counts in a 64-player setting. This means that, whether players have selected Ranked Mode or not, we will place them in the same matchmaking queue, ensuring equal waiting times and an enjoyable gaming experience.
4. Matchmaking takes too long, and the ping is too high.
An enjoyable experience for all players is our top priority. Our team monitors player data every day, including ping values and gameplay patterns in different regions. Our goal is for players to have a pleasant gaming experience and be matched with appropriate teammates within one minute.
Although we often have 100,000 concurrent players online on Steam, our user base is spread across various regions worldwide, and the number of players in different regions varies at different times. This can result in longer waiting times in certain regions. We have a series of adjustments and optimization plans in place to address this.
Firstly, we will selectively close certain maps in different regions to ensure better matchmaking for specific users. For Warfare mode, we want to ensure bots are not used as we believe players prefer to play with other real human players.
We would also like to share that if your teammates are from different regions, there is a chance you may be placed in matches with players from those regions, resulting in higher ping values. Therefore, players who prioritize low ping are advised to team up with players from their own region for a better gaming experience.
We appreciate your trust and patience as we continue to establish dedicated servers in various regions and further optimize gameplay strategies for each region. Our ultimate goal is to provide players with an improved gaming experience.
5. When will controller support be available?
We are working hard on it, and it will definitely be available next year.
6. When will the game be released on consoles?
We are also working hard on this, and internally we are already able to play the game on consoles. We have spent a considerable amount of time playing Warfare mode and various other modes. We look forward to sharing further updates with everyone as soon as we have more information.
7. When will the mobile version be released?
Pre-registration has already begun. If you are interested, please click on our pre-registration link. We will share further information with everyone as it becomes available.
8. Can the Battle Pass XP cap be removed?
We appreciate the feedback on this. Our intention in setting a Battle Pass XP cap is to ensure that players can experience Delta Force without feeling overwhelmed. We also want to discourage players from spending excessive amounts of time playing the game, as it can be detrimental to their well-being. However, we are open to further adjustments and optimization of the Battle Pass XP system in the future, so please continue to submit feedback and suggestions on this topic.
9. Player skins/realistic appearance.
We strongly believe that Delta Force is a realistic shooting game, and as such our entire game's visual design adheres to an appropriate degree of realism. For example, realistic textures are derived from real-world reference elements, and we will continue to maintain this approach in the long term.
10. Are there any plans to improve the UI? There are too many UI layers, too many things to click, and everything is too bright.
Yes, I understand that the UI can be overwhelming. We will actively work on optimizing the UI and take into account the suggestions provided by players.
11. When will a solo mode for Operations be available?
We do have plans for a solo mode. However, our current focus is on improving the matchmaking experience for players. Solo mode requires a higher peak player count, so we may initially consider activiating this during specific timeframes, such as weekends, as part of our future plans.
12. Will you add a Battle Royale gameplay mode?
There are no current plans for a Battle Royale mode. Our team's main focus is on developing our Warfare and Operations modes. However, we have an important new mode coming soon - our "Black Hawk Down" campaign - that has received significant attention from our development team. We hope to introduce it to players around January.
13. Will there be optimizations to improve the handling of vehicles? I've noticed that they are difficult to control.
Yes, I have seen feedback regarding vehicle handling. Our team is dedicated to improving the physics system and overall handling of vehicles, and we have plans for significant optimizations in future versions. We also encourage players to try out the vehicle controls in the A/D Drill mode to get a better feel for them.
That'll do it for today's questions. We hope you enjoyed our PC launch and all of the events and activities we've been running. You can also look forward to the Winter Holiday event that starts this weekend! In the meantime, we are preparing more new maps, weapons, vehicles, Operators, and events for you to experience. Stay tuned for our game's 2025 roadmap as well, as we believe there will be some surprising content for everyone to discover.
