Arashi: Castles of Sin - Final Cut Review (donnyg79)

So, when I first went to play this game. I could not get it to work. it kept showing the up next loading box.
Note: I am using Quest 3 via Steam Link on My Gaming PC Specs... i9-11900K 32GB RTX3090 1200w
So what I ended up doing to get it work was switch my Oculus openXR to SteamVR and it worked! finally!
So once it started up, it took me to a safety warning screen first thing saying becareful of your play area and etc. then it says press menu button to skip. I press every button on my Quest 3 controllers and nothing worked. I then went to binding controllers and found in the custom bindings someone already made a binding for the Quest 3 via Steam Link where they addd the Menu button to pressing in the left analog stick as a button this worked Perfectly! So now, I can finally start to play this game. The graphics are not what I expected. nothing like the trailer, maybe, they dumbed it down due to Quest but, it was hit and miss. some stuff looked detailed and good while most of it looked like it was made for playstation 2. I want to say this game is very similar to Hellsweeper VR it looks good and bad and plays good and bad as well. The Running is Amazing! I really feel like a Ninja running. But, The leaping & jumping is way to weak. they really need to improve that and allow the player much more height in jumping. HellsweeperVR nailed this feature. The combat is fun and some weapons are locked. meaning, I am Left handed and can only use the bow and grappling gun with my Right hand. same for the swords I can only use the long blade with my right hand. like I said, it feels like this game was made for Playstation 2 rather than a Powerful Gaming PC in VR. I did Enjoy what I did play so far. I got tired after about 2.5 hours of playing. it is Fun! and Haru is Awesome! very helpful! I made it to the part where you can't use him and it gets hard. after about six or seven attempts I had to take a break! I believe, if they polish everything up and make some improvements it will be a wonderful game to play. it feels like HellsweeperVR on the Quest. But, it does offer a full story Campaign that plays good enough. I feel like I am playing a old school shinboi game and that feeling alone is why I gave it 4 Stars. it is worth it for me. I will keep it!
