Armored Core 6 is a rebirth of what was once thought to be lost to time forever. As a long time AC fan, this game does an amazing job at capturing what made us fall in love with the games while introducing new mechanics, new concepts, and new experiences. Stunning visuals, a story that makes you think and feel, and you get to enjoy it all while piloting 4 story tall mechs, with enough customization to suit any play style.
To address the gripes of some long time fans - yes. It introduces Dark Souls style boss mechanics. There is a dodge system. There is a sword. There is stagger. True fans of the series know how these games have evolved through each iteration. This is not AC4A. This is a new generation of Armored Core game.
To new fans: Welcome, and I sincerely hope you enjoy this game as much as I do.
To FromSoftware: Thank you. All I ever dreamed of was another entry into this series. And I couldn't be more thrilled.
To Elden Ring: Thank you for being such an amazing game, and selling so many copies, that it led to the development of AC6.
TLDR: Solid 9/10 game, stunning release by FromSoftware as always. Mech fans, AC fans, Elden Ring fans, Dark Souls fans, and enjoyers of challenging, rewarding gameplay will all have a good time with this one.
