As Dusk Falls Review (м)

A Dusk Falls is a really entertaining Interactive Movie, and I enjoyed my first playthrough a lot.
The second, not as much, but more on that later...
To be honest, it took me a while to get used to the, not sure what even the proper name is, skip frame animation?
It feels like playing something at 2 frames per second.
The positive thing about this lazy way of animation is probably that the game runs even on the oldest toaster or potato. Therefore, even if you have a friend in the Kalahari Desert, you can probably invite them to your session and they can play fine with their Brickbook 2000.
Storywise it kept me interested until the end, but I advise you to not check the achievements or guides beforehand, cause they might spoil too much.
The clearly marked key choices have a big impact on the story and outcome of the game. The other choices are random and don't make much of a difference.
In spite of the poor animations, I like the general look of the game, the scenery, and the voice acting. The music. It's all well-made.
That you can play with up to 7 friends at once is also amazing!
So-so are the controls. It's either swiping, conversation choices or annoying Quicktime events.
However, a helpful thing is that the game settings allow you to add additional time to the time limits, which made the game more playable for me.
About the choices. As long as you pick what most logical people would choose, it's developing fine, but on my second "random click" playthrough, I noticed some logic flaws and loopholes.
For example if you fail to open the safe on purpose and therefore don't steal any money while the wife gets to click her Life Alert, one of the Holt brothers still says that the cash is in the trunk of the truck , when you're at the motel.
There have been two or three other things like that, which felt kinda sad because these plotholes could have been easily avoided.
One playthrough took me about 3 Hours.
It has some replay value and if you wanna see the full outcome of all the storyarcs, you'll probably get at least 8-10 hours out of this. I can't tell for sure because i haven't seen all of them yet.

Overall, As Dusk Falls is a really entertaining story-driven interactive movie game where many of the choices have a big impact on the outcome.
The art style and voice actors are great, however the animation style choice and plot holes here and there can spoil the fun.
You can play this with up to 7 friends at once, even if they don't own the game, and you can get about 8-10 hours of playtime out of it.
I'd recommend buying it for a price of around 10€ / $10.
