Batman: Arkham City Review (DarylSurat)

Arkham Asylum was among the best superhero videogames ever made as is, so it's no small feat that Arkham City is superior to it. Arkham City wisely doesn't fix what was never broken, opting for "more": combat techniques, gadgets, villains, enemy types, etc. Instead of being relatively linear, AC is set in an open world. Now you do the story at your leisure, and there are several side quests. You'll want to do them all. For while the world isn't massive, it's DENSE. With so much time spent in the skies and on the rooftops, the challenges are laid out to guide you to everything placed in the world. And there's a lot to see.
The game doesn't end when you beat the story. You're free to keep playing as long as you like to finish the side quests. You can start a New Game+ too. Plus, there are challenge maps galore, with multiple characters to use. (The Robin/Nightwing DLC only add content to the challenges.) Last thing: the game runs MUCH worse using DX11, with virtually zero visual change.
