Black Skylands Review (Dandelion)
I had a chance to play this game when it was in EA for 5 hours, and finished the game in 15-17 hours after they released it. They down graded the upgrade system a lot, it turned to be easy + they changed story line to... much simpler one. The changes that they made is understandable because in aspect of story line game is probably 3-5 hours long so you go to new area or to big story quest almost prepared. still you have to clear 1 or 2 "skylands" for you to have necessary upgrade resources. this is the reason of recent "swarm" of negative reviews are all about. lets move out to rating. this game is STRONG 8/10. dialogues are weak there is not much feelings and depths to it. enemy varieties are debatable enemy type of falcons are enough however i expected more from enemy type of swarms to have more mini boss varieties and hidden creatures to fight with in swarm area. Beside these, they did everything ALL-right. combat system, simplicity of buffs, guns, ships, feedback from environment and map design are all TOP NOTCH.
This is i think my first review for any games that i played. the reason of this review is to stop people from getting scared away because of recent reviews that make looks like this game is unworthy. Developer of Black Skylands got that "Horos" hand for CREATING unique and enjoyable sandbox game/s. Also its important to mention that acting ceo of Hungry Couch Games is a young lad with goals in his mind and glow in his eyes and has potential to accomplish more deeds with success.
if you got spare time or want to kill some time in between waiting for triple A games to release, this is one of those indie sandbox games that you will enjoy eating it up and filling your hours with it. (sorry for my broken english if i ever did mistake and missed to correct it. i got almost to none practice in writing and verbally socialising.)
