Bluey: The Videogame Review (Tzetsin)
My daughter and I were excitedly waiting for release and couldn't be more disappointed.
This "game" would barely be considered a "game" even if it was released on mobile. If it was on mobile for 10$ I still wouldn't recommend it, and I'll tell you why.
Have you ever gotten a gift from a child that was so excited when they hand it to you that they say "You'll never guess what it is...IT'S SOOOOOOCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" before you even start unwrapping it? That is this game.
I realize this game is meant for children, but as a parent with children I have to wonder if the developer has spent any time with them. This "game" holds your hand in the most brutally extreme way I've ever seen. You have only a very limited number of "collectibles" to find in the area and every one of them have a huge arrow pointing at them when they are out of screen and a large halo of sparkles, just in case you missed the arrow in the otherwise mostly empty room. I looked, maybe there was an option to turn this off and that only made me realize that there are basically NO options. OF ANY KIND.
The audio clips EVERYWHERE.
The mouths are very very blurry when they speak.
This is a Unity game. Want to how I know? Of course there was the typical "Made with Unity" when you fire it up, but if that wasn't enough the TASKBAR ICON IS THE UNITY ICON wtf? You want 50 bucks CAD for this amount of effort??
This is a PC game in the "Real game" space... When you consider the absolutely insane price of games these days, the 50$ price is definitely in line, but 90 bucks for a game is retarded and 50 is only "ok" for a AAA game. This "barely a no-effort mobile game" is gross for 50 bucks.
sigh... we were excited enough that I could probably overlook a lot of my complaints, but the amount of hand holding puts this in the "what the heck is the point of playing it then" category which is a deal breaker :/
There were a WHOLE LOT MORE red flags in my short time with this. There is no amount of money this could sell for that would make me willing to recommend it. If they removed the aggressive hand holding and released it on mobile, then maybe it'd be worth it for 10 bucks, but they couldn't even be bothered to make a taskbar Icon so I won't hold my breath.
Refunded with zero hesitation.
