Bomber Crew Review (liuyiding5)
Darkest Dungeon but FTL, or perhaps more accurately put as Darkest Dungeon but RAF.
In Darkest Dungeon, you get a team of heroes and send them on missions in a dark mansion with all the horrors of the world. In Bomber Crew, you get a team of heroes and send them on missions in France.
In Darkest Dungeon, you build your base by upgrading the pubs in the hamlet. In Bomber Crew, you build your mobile base by upgrading your Avro Lancaster.
In Dakrest Dungeon, you get syphilis by touching a bookshelf when battling a Lovecraftian God. In Bomber Crew, the RAF actually sent their four engines on anti-submarine patrols and supported the navy rather than hoarding the long range bombers like Eugenie Grandet with a bag of coins just so that they could drop bombs on German civilian buildings because they couldn't find the targeted factories in the night but claimed the credits and media spotlights anyhow when the navy was doing its best making sure the nation didn't starve and bringing fuel for the airforce to burn for nothing and the army dying in the African desert or Burmese jungle with only Hurricanes above their head...wait, what am I on about?
Oh, yes, the game, yes, yes.
Well, so this game is basically the same as Darkest Dungeon but slightly less grounded and realistic. Definitely not for everyone if you cannot suspend your disbelief enough, but if you do like some good fantasy where the airforce is actually competent and suspiciously not condescending, this is the one to get.
9 out 10, will play more.
