Dead by Daylight: End Transmission Review (DramaticMeg)

Overall Rating: 2.5/5
The Survivor (Gabriel Soma): 4/5
Gabriel is a good character and nicely fills the role of a futuristic character that the survivor roster was missing. It's nice to see his in-game store cosmetics lean into sci-fi too. Gabriel's unique perks are a mixed bag. Made For This is decidedly his strongest perk, providing a noticeable haste effect when injured and prolonging chases by a decent margin. Made For This is currently too oppressive for slower killers though and I imagine it will be toned down or reworked. His remaining perks, Scavenger and Troubleshooter, are not so great. The repair speed penalty of Scavenger is a significant hindrance and Troubleshooter is easily trumped by better information perks.
The Killer (The Singularity): 3.5/5
It's great to see another monstrous killer join the roster, as the game was definitely lacking in non-human killers. The Singularity is a tall, grotesque amalgamation of organic and machine parts, with a fun and creative power. His Biopods allow him to pressure areas of the map from afar as well as cover large distances with a quick teleport. His overclock mode swiftly deals with pallets and windows, allowing him to get downs quickly if survivors don't have an EMP handy. The Singularity's unique perks are mediocre: Machine Learning provides brief stealth and speed after a damaged generator is completed, while Genetic Limits and Forced Hesitation provide significant debuffs but are too situational to consistently get value from. The Singularity isn't perfect, but it is very nice to have a new killer that isn't fundamentally flawed and unsalvageable like the previous two chapters.
The Map (Dvarka Deepwood, Toba Landing): 0/5
(You can play on the map without owning the DLC) Toba Landing suffers from the same issues that have plagued the last few map releases, featuring an egregious amount of clutter, bad collisions, an overstrong main structure, wide generator spread, and a colour palette that hinders gameplay. The aesthetics of the map are great, with the flora, fora, and rocky terrain feeling very alien and surreal. Aesthetically the map is engaging, but visuals should not be prioritised over playability. It's a huge shame for such a unique concept to be let down by its gameplay. If maps were released in a good state, then there would be no need to constantly do major overhauls that take up a significant amount of developer bandwidth.
Recommendation: Worth full price.
