Deadside Review (TheOwOInQuestion)
After nearly 200 hours spent on this game, I can say that it is not worth your time.
The game used to be great and have potential but is plagued by lazy and incompetent developers who basically do the exact opposite of what the community wants. "Oh you want cars? Instead we're gonna waste time making the game more like rust and remove the raid token feature that made our game unique!"
The playerbase has literally been telling the devs exactly what they want and they just ignore it. I can't tell if it is just literal massive incompetence or purposeful ignorance.
Cars have been a massive request since this game has been released. Instead they wasted time adding boats, new weapons, crawling, bags, changing the base building, spawn system, adding a new city that was dead within the first week because there is basically nothing of substance there. I can go on. The only fun part of this game is the PVP, but you have to run thousands of meters to get the things you want before you pvp, during which time you can be killed by players or the extremely terrible AI.
The AI is completely ridiculous. As soon as AI see you they will literally track you through walls, bushes, etc. Depending on mission level they are able to one shot headshot you while you are running, moving, etc, and there is nothing you can do about it. No way to counter it. If you do any mission above the medium one, get ready to run back well over a couple times because the AI will just take your head off or rush your position despite the fact they shouldn't know your in that position, because real people aren't able to see you through walls, but these AI can!
The only way to counter is by physically being far away from the AI, but the rendering and anti-aliasing is complete garbage even on max settings with my 4K monitor and the best scopes in the game. Good luck with some of the case missions, the sniper AI can shoot at you accurately while being a few pixels on your screen from your perspective. Sniping over 500m is near impossible even with the best scopes in the game.
Deadside had it all lined up, and their absolutely incompetent, arrogant, ignorant developers threw it away by ignoring the community and taking months to put out updates the community didn't even want. I understand that it is the developers game, but these developers are so ignorant of what their community wants compared to what they put out I'm starting to think it is a genuine language barrier. I CANNOT understand what is going on at this studio. It is a total fucking anomaly, it doesn't make any sense.
Fun time if someone who already got ripped off gifts it to you and you play for a few hours, but do not invest any serious time into this game. Absolute insanity.
