El Matador Review (BARF_FACE_9000)
Max Payne, meet Marco Pena
This is basically Max Payne 1 set in South America with a less somber story and a slightly more arcadey feel. If you enjoy the Max Payne games, you will probably dig this. Slomo pewpew with groovy Matrix-esque OST thumping throughout with a variety of weapons at your disposal, ranging from the usual Deagles, Shotties, Dual-wield SMGs, Miniguns, Assault Rifles, and even Rocket Launchers.
The game was difficult enough to remain challenging throughout, with a few bosses sprinkled throughout for good measure. The levels are nice and varied, with a mix of indoor and outdoor environments including a club, a factory, a sewer, a jungle, a really cool sequence in a church and even a tanker later in the game.
I did run into one soft-lock where I had to redo one sequence a few times on Chapter 2 until it properly triggered enemies opening a chainlink door to get by, but this was the only instance. The game seems to crash if it remains alt-tabbed too long as well. Kind of a strange visual glitch with some of the shadows causing a line to be visible in certain areas of the map, but not a big deal. Aside from that I had no issues.
I enjoyed this. If you're itching for another "bullet time" third person shooter this definitely fits the bill.
