Think Stardew but modern.
This gonna be very long cause its the first game I've been not only waiting a year for hyped up had a few red flags with the home in old trailers, then they showed new & all my red flags melted.
After playing most the afternoon with my Bestie & still hyped right now to play after she gets back from work later Saturday I'd say this is a good sign.
I come from Stardew, I spent years looking for a new game, had many purchase fails keep the games hope updates one day will make it better, then off to find another.

I was looking specifically for a stardew replacement I've been pretty stubborn on what I want as that game I beat was the first I was attached to on my switch for over a year.
Fae Farm is that game, it covers everything I've wanted.

Okies let's start.
Got the deluxe as it had the soundtrack I could have offline,
by the way it's perfect for calming!
Has 2 DLC coming later on.
This game has all the foundation I wanted & even adds way more!
You can leveling up all your skills doing things like Farming, Chopping trees, mining, battling, all levels you up & gives bonuses as you level.
There is fishing & unlike stardew where it was near impossible for me to fish without mods, or utilizing trash or sellers.
Fae Farms fishing is not as simple a one button click & one button pull, but not as crazy frustrating as Stardew.
it's got enough oomph, meaning not to hard but not to easy, it's just right, you throw the rod, wait tease fish by jiggling the line a little, the fish turns & bites then you pull, BUT WAIT when lines goes red immediately stop pulling & just kinda spam click until fishy loosens up, then pull & reel in, for me I love this fishing!

Animals are SO cute & adorable with the bonus of breeding & coloring them with charms!
I can get a blue chicken by default lol without befriending any certain npcs stardew players will know what I mean lol...
The magic animations for me & my child like mindset are amusing! Love!

The mines are actually interesting!
with stardew,meh.. rocks.. walls.. boring go find a hole,
with Fae farm it's so colorful, yea same old layout but the the sounds are nice, the plink plink of mining out the gems is just ahhh very nice & the coloring helps liven it up, plus you find switches not holes again thank you for adding something new to the idea.
The enemys while they do get to be a butt pain a little later in the mines there not hard I didn't find myself giving up & me nor Bestie (plays with me on switch) have died in the mines yet & im uncoordinated & got hit many times lol.
Unlocking the mine levels perm is amazing you want that mine unlocked we'll work for it, get the needed stuffs make seals then put seals in said spots & they stay open.
Don't want to do that well just run through every time looking for buttons opening doors & bring noms u will need the energy.
Speaking of noms which you can make at your farm,
The crafting is very nice, bulk crafting is just very handy, also doesn't take overly long.
TIP: soon as u can get the polishing station MAKE IT as that's how you so called bulk sell things as it takes 10 gems to makes one polished for more money & can sell more.
The Npcs for me are perfect, I don't like to read a lot, it's just overwhelming for me, but I have a child like mindset & I just want to get a quest done & go about my happy merry way, the story is perfect on length & has been very intersting so far.
I actually enjoy the Npcs being stuck out all day & all night one thing I hated in stardew was chasing npcs around or trying to remember shop days like so far all the shops stay open all day.
Some are inside a building & that's a nice change of scenery but I'm content with how it's set up to me it's perfect.
The npc quests on the other hand are a butt pain!
STOP ASKING FOR THE SAME FLUFFING THING O.O ! !
I go around & ask npcs what they want I DO NOT EXPECT THEM ALL TO WANT THE SAME FLUFFING THING.
Example as I was going about my day I asked 4 npcs what they wanted ..
All of them, wants a rainbow frog, a copper, 10 birch logs MIND U THAT FROG IS RARE.
ALL WANTED THE SAME THINGS HISS.
thankfully I learned friendship quests are only daily though that makes it worse TO REQUEST A RARE CREATURE DOUBLE HISS.
ok back to happy lol..
Tool upgrades easy seem to be on a path as u unlock mines, they also unlock special ability's per say like magical more watering, more trees can be chopped with a flying axe love the details & animations!

PASSING OUT THERES NO PENALTYS PURE HAPPYNESS THERE!
The farming is amazing! I love the plants are in their own beds u can organize it better, holding button & moving continuesly plants.
There's hybrid flower growing (play animal crossing this be familiar) red flower space then a white flower equals a pink flower eventually like YAS!
There's a lot of crops to grow & it seems some you need to discover them, YOU, by way of um a certain fertilizer that changes the crop then take said crop put in seed table make seed rinse repeat.
Animals don't need to be penned up they are smart have a nice life area or even without they I believe go back in there pens ON THERE OWN.
Small thing but the pens are nicely sized for the creatures using the building, the stuff dropped like eggs is in the bed the animal occupies.
The crafting tables are ANIMATED THERE ADORBS heck we got whacked by the saw one was funny lol
The furniture omg one of thee new features I've never seen in a game.
Specific Cozy Furniture in there own tab you make them & place them the next day some stats will be boosted depending on what you placed, health red, magic blue, green stamina, it's very nice. Very very nice.
The objects can be colored same as animals but in my time of playing (I only play with my Bestie so I don't finish the game in one sitting plus she's really good at voice acting the characters we play on voice call lol) we did not unlock more colors for animals or furniture no idea how ether but there's a lot & 2 regions to color on everything so far I've crafted maybe it's not all stuff but the cozy stuff has coloring.
The clothing atm is uh mediocre the cozy outfit is blah therss not much I'm seeing in the shop that's grand atm so I'm wearing the default but that could change later on we on chapter 4 atm of me typing all of this o.o...
Multiplayer is a blast way way more fun easier 2 is better then 1 kicking enemy tushy lol
2 inventory's one gets full other steps up to grab.
YOUR FARM, STORAGE SHED IS INFINITE & crafting tables PULL FROM IT omg glorious happyness !
THERES MORE FARMS TO UNLOCK O.O
Like I'd say the first one is decent size then the next is like another big plot & I heard there's 4 of these to have !
To me plenty of space.
There's more paths & fences then stardew for me that's awesome!
There also cute & id use quite a few.
The critter catching takes a tiny bit of getting used to I'm still adapting but it's not bad at all, sneak up & just wait for the sparkles then POUNCE!
I love this game, it's like modern stardew, with all the issues I had removed or made better in some ways, the house doesn't get as big as stardew & the furniture isn't a lot from what I can see, but it can colored so I'm not upset to me long as a game provides a color wheel or a way to change the color with lots of options I can handle it better, then ones without the choic of color.
I'd honestly just change the npcs requesting stuff to be different,
More furniture be nice,
more clothing & clothing colors as I don't know if they can be colored.
otherwise I can't see much that needs to be added or changed for me least not atm maybe I'll come back & edit this later on if need be.
